Pursuing a doctorate with a degree obtained at a University of Applied Sciences

University of Bayreuth welcomes doctoral candidates who obtained their degree at a University of Applied Sciences.The admission requirements for doctoral studies are based on the doctoral regulations of the respective faculty graduate centre.

Procedure

First, find a potential supervisor at University of Bayreuth and get in touch, introduce yourself and your potential research project.


There are two options:

  • Cooperative doctoral project: Supervision by a supervisor at University of Bayreuth and a supervisor at a University of Applied Sciences
  • Supervision by a supervisor at University of Bayreuth only.

Bayerisches Wissenschaftsforum BayWISS and the Fachforum Verbundpromotion

The Bayerisches Wissenschaftsforum BayWISS strengthens the doctoral conditions for young researchers with the help of the Fachforum Verbundpromotion. The "Verbundkolleg" model removes existing hurdles for HAW graduates and creates an attractive range of support services for central future topics, supported by both types - of university and HAW.

Currently eleven BayWISS-Verbundkollegs are offered for cooperative doctorates.

The University of Bayreuth is a participating university in following Verbundkollegs in the Fachforum Verbundpromotion of the Bayerisches Wissenschaftsforum BayWISS:
