Description
Scientists are expected to be good communicators. This includes finding the right words in critical situations: parrying unobjective attacks, answering provocative questions, holding their own in discussions with wit and charm, and reacting calmly to emotional outbursts. In this workshop, you will learn proven techniques and tools that can be used immediately.
We will do practical exercises in pairs, in the group and in plenary. There will be lecturing parts and discussions. Participants can bring in their own examples and learn about other cases that present them with particular challenges.

Qualification Goals

  • Asserting one’s own position
  • Fending off unfair attacks
  • Answering uncomfortable questions
  • Developing one's own professional communication style

Trainer

  • Dr. Matthias Nöllke is a keynote speaker, expert in rhetoric and author for management and communication.
  • He has published more than 20 books, including four books on repartee. In addition, he has written books on conflicts in the workplace, on the "language of power" and on rhetoric.
  • He financed his doctorate by writing the German dialogue books of "The Simpsons".

*Creditability within the kick-off seminar

For reasons of respect and fairness towards all participants and the workshop leaders, participants who miss more than 10% of the workshop are considered not to be present.
