Qualification Programme

There are many requirements for an academic career: scientific quality of research work, data documentation and analysis, presentation techniques, involvement in teaching, project and time management and many more. In addition, you should prepare for a postdoctoral or your career after your doctoral studies. Do you want to stay in academia or pursue a non-university career?

The University of Bayreuth and the Junior Scholar Office (WiN-UBT) offers a broad information and qualification program within the WiN Academy / UBTGS, which is specifically tailored to the needs of young scholars. The WiN program is composed of the offerings of the institutions at the University of Bayreuth: the UBT Graduate School, the Center for Teaching and Learning (ZHL), the Writing Center, the Career Service, the Start-Up Counseling, the Equal Opportunities Department, the Office of Research Support, the Language Center and the Welcome Center. This consists of individual events as well as the possibility to acquire certificates.

Individual Events - Dates

Registration: With the summer semester workshops, there will be a new and more flexible registration system designed to provide more equity in access to our skills program. Each course will then have an individual registration period. Registration for the workshops will take place as usual through the access points

For postdocs+ (postdocs, junior research group leaders*, habilitation candidates and junior professors. with and without tenure track): WiN-UBT portal

The registration period starts individually for each course date one month before, at 10.00 am and ends 10 days before the workshop, at 11.45 pm.

In addition, a deregistration function has been built in so that you can deregister yourself up to 10 days before the course starts. After that, cancellation is only possible by sending an e-mail in justified cases.
