Description
The world is getting better when it comes to levelling the playing field and narrowing the gender imbalance but there is still a gender gap. Unfortunately, subconscious biases still play a part in everyday life.
While those subconscious biases still exist, you need to know how to react to and cope with them.
This workshop will teach you how to be more assertive and how to deal with different types of difficult people (above, below and to the side), how to clearly define boundaries and how to generate a productive working environment.
The workshop covers special techniques for understanding hidden motivations and strategies for responding to the biases commonly encountered in the workplace.
The workshop will also cover non-aggressive and non-confrontational techniques for ensuring the improvement and maintenance of productive, harmonious working relationships.
Because having the techniques alone is not enough, there will be a module on increasing self-esteem so that you can confidently use the techniques.

Outcomes
Participants will learn useful, easy-to-follow guidelines which will enable them to be proactive and flexible in managing and quickly resolving the biases and conflict that is an inevitable part of any workplace.
Workshop style
The workshop draws on the personal experience of all participants as well as that of the trainer, thereby ensuring that the training is specific for and relevant to the participants’ individual needs. The workshop will be a structured discussion forum to facilitate ideas and develop strategies.
The workshop will be very interactive. Expect to be asked lots of questions, expect to be challenged, expect to participate!

Qualification Goal
Depending on the needs of the participants, this flexible workshop will cover:

  • 1. Uncovering hidden motivations & managing differing motivations
  • 2. The different types of difficult people and how to manage them
  • 3. Overcoming deadlock and creating win-win situations
  • 4. Not being exploited while remaining proactive and flexible
  • 5. How to negotiate successfully
