The art of engaging and meaningful small talk at scientific conferences and beyond.

Small talk and sustainable networking are essential for any scientists looking to advance their career and build new collaborations. It can be, however, a daunting task, especially for those who are introverted or new to their scientific field. In this seminar, you will gain a deep understanding of the fundamentals of engaging and light-hearted small talk in academia and beyond.

We will practice a number of best-practice techniques which will help you to have meaningful and pleasant conversations and establish lasting relationships with colleagues and peers. There will be plenty of time to discuss individual questions about specific small talk situations and sustainable networking. By the end of the workshop, you will have a toolbox of techniques which you can use and refine on your own. This is a 100% interactive and practical seminar, so be ready to actively participate and have fun!

You will therefore not receive a certificate and you will not be able to use the workshop in question to unlock funds or acquire further qualifications.
