Description:
- Basic statistical knowledge is assumed (e.g. descriptive statistics, basics of regression analysis)
- No previous knowledge of Stata is required
- Knowledge of syntax-based software (e.g. SPSS, R) is helpful but not required
Please note that the course does not give a detailed insight into the statistical procedures and the underlying mathematics, but introduces how to use standard statistical procedures in Stata.
After attending the first day of the course, students with no prior Stata knowledge will be able to use basic commands in Stata, understand the basic logic of “how Stata works”, and will use do- and log-files to document their analyses.
The second day builds upon the first, but is also open to intermediate beginners, who know how to use do-files and perform simple regression analyses. It will cover more commands for analyses and add automation techniques like loops and macros as well as the production of publishable tables and graphics.
For reasons of respect and fairness towards all participants and the workshop leaders, participants who miss more than 10% of the workshop are considered not to be present. You will therefore not receive a certificate and you will not be able to use the workshop in question to unlock funds or acquire further qualifications.
Before you register, please confirm with your supervisor/ employer that you are free to participate in the course on that date.
