Description:

In the interactive event “Mission FDM”, participants explore the core principles of research data management by a card-based escape game. The objective of the game is to develop a “roadmap” for a typical research data workflow within a 90-minute session. Working in small teams, participants collaboratively reflect on the main stages of the data lifecycle: research project planning, data collection, data preparation and analysis, archiving, sharing and publishing, and data reuse. 

“Mission FDM” is aimed at doctoral candidates who wish to gain an overview of RDM concepts and requirements: Using gamification, the workshop provides hands-on experience with key RDM principles and practical tips for handling research data responsibly.

The Research Data Management (RDM) team at the University of Bayreuth offers support throughout the various phases of a research project. Professional management of your research data in accordance with good scientific practice is a key requirement of high-quality, reproducible research.

* Workshops from the RDM area can only be credited for the kick-off seminar or within the WiN certificate if a total of at least 4 hours has been completed. The composition of the RDM modules is freely selectable.
