Description:

In addition to advisory support in all phases of research projects, the RDM team at the University of Bayreuth also offers digital services to support research processes. This course provides an overview of these applications, which are made available centrally within the University of Bayreuth. Regarding the issue of the long-term digital availability of research data, the course provides a general introduction to the topic. Anyone interested in gaining an initial overview of the functionalities and possible usage scenarios of the digital services and how data can be prepared to ensure long-term availability is invited to attend. 

The course will cover
- the structure and content of data management plans and their creation in RDMO@UBT,
- options for research documentation in the electronic lab notebook SciNote@UBT,
- the storage and possibility of publishing research data in the institutional repository RDSpace@UBT and
- the presentation and publication of collections in Collections@UBT,
- advantages and strategies of long-term availability,
- criteria for suitable data formats and
- possible criteria for selecting research data for long-term availability.

Before you register, please confirm with your supervisor/employer that you are free to participate in the course on that date.
