With the Research Stay Grant funding programme, the University of Bayreuth provides its early career researchers with funding for a short stay of one to three weeks at an (inter)national university or research institution.
The Research Stay Grant includes reimbursement of travel costs between the place of work (usually Bayreuth/Kulmbach) as well as accommodation costs at the place of travel, visa fees and a daily allowance if applicable. The costs will be reimbursed by WiN-UBT upon application up to a maximum of €3,500.

The RSG 2026 call for research stays between Jan. 1st  and Oct.31st, 2026 will open on October 1st, 2025, with an application deadline on Nov.15, 2025.

Eligible candidates are member of the University of Bayreuth during application and during the research stay.
Eligible for application are:

• Postdocs, habilitation candidates and junior group leaders at the University of Bayreuth
• Junior professors at the University of Bayreuth
• Doctoral candidates at the University of Bayreuth, who will finish their doctorate by the time of the planned travel
